UNET - is a social network designed to offer people more convenient, easier to understand and better tools for communicating and exchanging information.
Webtop
Webtop is the control center. It has the familiar look of an operating system. You can communicate, read news, play games, store files, work with documents, and use numerous other apps within Webtop. Only the account user can access Webtop – it is a private area.
Applications
Applications, or apps, are like programs in operating systems. Unet lets you simultaneously use any number of apps launched in Webtop’s different windows, which means you can chat in one window, edit a document in another one, play a game in a third.
Профиль
The profile is the part of the account visible to the public (or to others). It’s used to publish different types of information: news, ideas, musings, video, music, etc. Every profile has its own web-accessible personal address (name.unet.net, for example), making it the owner’s signature.
Contact Network
Instead of using the word “friends”, whose meaning has evolved in recent years, Unet uses a more precise wording – a contact network. Contacts can be sorted by groups, of which Friends is one. You can create groups yourself. Each group of contacts can be assigned its own access rights to Profile information.
Privacy and Security
Unet is very careful about privacy and security. Privacy settings are available for any type of personal information (name, address, picture, where you go to school, etc.). Thus, your profile picture can be made available for your contact network, while everybody else would be seeing the avatar. Unet users can restrict who can tag them in images, look at entries, vote in polls, see received gifts, etc.
Ease and Convenience
Very few of the popular social networks can be called convenient and modern. We aim to move the technologies forward and to become an example to emulate. As such, we are doing everything possible to make Unet convenient, understandable and functional.
